The Bushwick Starr is located just off the Jefferson Street stop on the L Train (approx. 20 minutes from Manhattan)

Exit the front of the train
Walk against traffic on Starr Street
We’re 3/4 a block on the right!

With the ongoing work on the Canarsie Tunnel, please note that late night and weekend service on the L will be affected. Please check the MTA L Project or MTA website for updates the morning of your trip. The L will run slower after 10pm on weekdays and over the weekends so please budget extra time (20-30 min) for your travel. As an alternative to the L you can take the M to Central Ave. and walk to the theater. (See instructional video and more detailed info below our map!)

Some nights & weekends the L will stop running at Lorimer. In this case there will be free shuttle buses running regularly. Again, please allow some additional time to ensure you get to the performance on time. When the L is down completely we suggest taking the M to Central Ave. (less hassle!)

Thanks for sticking with us through this year of service interruption!

ALTERNATE SERVICE: During the busiest hours on weekends, the L will run every 20 minutes while alternate subway and bus options run more frequently:

  • M every 8 minutes

  • M14 A/D SBS combined will run every 3 minutes

  • J every 10 minutes

  • G every 8 minutes

  • 7 every 4 minutes

8TH AVENUE STATION INFO: L service runs normally during the busiest times on weekdays at 8 Av Station. If you're planning to use the L on nights and weekends:

  • Plan ahead: With trains every 20 minutes to Manhattan, you might not be able to board the first train depending on how many other customers are waiting. If you miss the first train, it's faster for the majority of customers to use the other subways at the station, or the M14 A/D SBS if traveling in Manhattan.

  • You have options: The ACE are just a platform away in the station complex to take you to downtown Brooklyn, or to W 4th St to catch the M. And M14 A/D SBS are in the neighborhood and run more frequently than the L.

  • Watch your step: 8 Av will be crowded at certain times. Our staff and NYPD will be there to manage potential lines.

  • L trains might be held in stations for a few minutes: This will help us keep trains on schedule. Doors will be kept open when we hold.
