An Afro-Surrealist play written and directed by award-winning playwright Keelay Gipson. When the death of their patriarch draws family members home, they must reckon with grief and the haunting realities that death often brings to the surface. A surreal dark comedy, demons. is a meditation on the reality of getting older, of losing a parent, and that ever-elusive quest to exorcize the trauma a family passes down through the generations.

Paige Gilbert
PAIGE GILBERT (Hannah Rusted) has become one of the most sought-after young actresses on the NY Stage. Most recently starring as ‘Beneatha’ in The Public Theater’s production of A Raisin in the Sun, with Robert O’Hara directing. She was previously seen on Broadway in the Lincoln Center Theater production of The Skin of Our Teeth directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz and made her Broadway debut in the Roundabout production of The Rose Tattoo. Prior to that, she starred in the Drama Desk Award winning School Girls; or The African Mean Girls play as well as the critically acclaimed MCC production of BLKS. Film credits include: Late Night and Adam, both official selections of the 2019 Sundance Film festival, Choices. On the small screen she recurred on the Netflix series “Russian Doll,” HBO series “The Deuce,” and “High Maintenance.”

Joseph Lymous
Joseph Lymous is a New Orleans born actor/comedian/puppeteer/producer. He was recently cast in the upcoming Tim Robinson HBO series, The Chair Company. In 2024 his sketch comedy group, Uncle Function, was invited to perform in the Netflix is a Joke Festival. Joseph is a 2023 CBS Showcase alum and a 2021 Just For Laughs New Face. You can catch him in The Other Two (MAX) and Awkwafina is Nora from Queens (Comedy Central). Joseph is currently developing his original tv series with Abominable Pictures… and as exciting as this all is, he mostly wants to be remembered for the fact that back in 2019 Beyoncé shared a video of him shakin’ his a$$ in her Instagram story.

Jason Veasey
Jason Veasey is an actor, known for American Gangster (2007), Only Murders in the Building (2021) and A Shot Through the Wall (2021). He was last seen in the Broadway and Woolly Mammoth production of A Strange Loop and the original Playwrights Horizons production, for which he won an Obie Award. Other credits include the Broadway and national touring companies of The Lion King and countless credits on stages across the country including Actors Theater of Louisville, Denver Center, and The MUNY. On TV you could spot him on “High Maintenance,” “Chicago Fire,” “Dash and Lily,” “Flatbush Misdemeanors,” and “Betty.” Upcoming: the film Home Free. Shout-outs to the folks at Nicolosi & Co. and, as always, DVS and V. He would like to dedicate this run and every other run of A Strange Loop to Darius Smith, and especially Keldon LaVar Price and Rich Affannato. I wish you could’ve seen our show. You would’ve loved it.

Gayle Samuels
Gayle Samuels earned a Best Actress nomination from the Connecticut Critics Circle for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar & Grill and received rave reviews for her portrayal of Rose in Fences and Louise in Seven Guitars. She recently made her Metropolitan Opera debut in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, did the national tour of Little House on the Prairie and toured internationally as a featured vocalist with Harry Belafonte. Christopher B. Portley (Bruh-in-Law) is a Dallas Texas native and based in Harlem New York. He recently made his Off-Broadway Debut this past fall in LA RACE as Trey, directed by Taylor Reynolds (Page 73/Working Theater). Ashton Muñiz (Bubba’s “Friend”) (they/he) is an actor, performance artist, activist and emerging producer whose artistic goal is to instill joy into the world by embracing the realities of the present. Recent acting credits include Andrew Rincon's I Wanna F*ck Like Romeo and Juliet, Matthew Lopez's The Inheritance on Broadway, Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music. Ashton has also been seen in productions Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop, The Public Theatre, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Cherry Lane and more! Recently, Ashton has collaborated with various artists and curators thus being featured in their works at museums and galleries around the world including The Guggenheim, Art Institute Chicago, Swiss Institute, New Museum, CND(Paris), Lehmann Maupin and Pace Gallery. Additionally, Ashton has also danced for Karole Armitage//Marc Jacobs, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna and more.
